Missoula Bound

Long time no bike post.  Here, let's fix that.  This one's headed up north.  Hopefully Austin finds a place to ride it before the long winter sets in.  Otherwise its gonna be a good five to six months before the snow clears from the trails up there.  Maybe he'll load up those rack mounts and bottle cages and head for warmer climates.  Its the do-all 29" tourer after all.  Its a great looking bike if I must say so myself!  Enjoy your new bike Austin!

Trolls Tackle Tri-Cities

After a weekend of treachery, suffering, great food, mathematical computations beyond our abilities, and the best riding in Williams, the Trolls have proven their worth, much to the surprise of the goats and even themselves, as the most diversely talented beasts in the mountain biking universe.  Competitions were close, heated, and not without controversy, but after calculations were checked and re-checked the normalized scores for our three heroic teams were as follows:

Trolls:  22 points

Goats:  21.27 points

Martians:  0 points

Total points tabulations, however, put the goats on top with an astonishing lead of 76 points to 44 points.  Individual competitions were fierce, with Pepe le Troll being the only competitor to take a double stage win.  He won the DH and the dab'l'doya hill climb.  Heinchez took the UH, and I reigned in the Kamikaze and took away a surprise two bonus points in the X-treme headstand competition.  Valiant performances were also had by Fast as F___ Fields, Potter, Bleeder Butel, and Otter Face.

Starting Fresh

This begins the third incarnation of the shop on North Datura.  The first was rather short lived and I think I was into the swing of the second by the time I did Evan's bike.  It was the first one I made here.   That incarnation lived for three years and was quite functional, but did leave a little to be desired.  So I wound up pulling everything out to start from scratch with new insulation and OSB walls.  Thanks Cowboy Dan!  I've done the last three winters here with only a space heater and the winter is pretty darn cold here at 7300 feet in the sticks outside Flagstaff.  The build out of the shop is coming along nicely and should be completed through building the next couple bikes.  Thanks to all who are reading and for the interest in Moustache Cycles as of late!

Colorado Trail - A Brief Photo Essay

...lets call it the Granny Gear 500....Now I know all too well that a long winded narrative is certainly needed;  it will come in time....and perhaps in a medium other than this blog.  For now I couldn't let the summer lapse in postings go any longer with this trip now behind me.  I'm sure the pics leave plenty of gaps in the story for those who have yet to hear it, so you'll just have to hear it....or read about it later.  You can click the photos to get the zoom and slide show thing.
